Carbon nanotube (CNT) sponge is a sponge-like bulk material composed of self-assembled and interconnected CNT skeletons. It not only has low density and high porosity, but also has high structural flexibility and robustness, as well as wettability to organics in pristine form. The CNT sponge can be elastically deformed into any shape and repeatedly compressed into large strains in air or liquid without collapsing. The product can be used as a porous electrode for various energy devices, and can also be used directly in environmental applications such as adsorption, filtration and separation.
